Surface Preparation:
 |
Under no circumstances should this material be applied over oily or greasy
surfaces. At minimum, cleaning should be accomplished by mechanical
hand cleaning to meet SSPC-SP1 or light sandblasting to meet SSPC-SP7.
Sandblasting will not clean oil and grease. Do not clean oily surfaces with
thinner as this will merely smear the oil. A detergent wash and thorough
rinse is necessary to properly remove dirt and oil.

Application Considerations:
Ensure that the coating is uniformly applied with particular care afforded to
edges, angles, and corners. On a derusted surface, the application of a dry
film thickness of at least 2 mils is recommended. With any oxidative coating,
faster dry time may be obtained with incresed air movement and/or higher
substrate or material temperature. Coverage will vary depending on surface
texture and application technique.
