Product Profile:
General Description:
An oxidative long oil, spar resinous coating.
Common Usage:
For interior and exterior use offering resistance to water, heat,ultra-violet rays, etc. This is a very white, bright, leafing type aluminum that is highly recommended for tanks, derricks, water towers, structural steel, piping or wherever a high grade aluminum is required.

Coating Systems:
Primer Coats:
Use Anchor #1730 Series Rust Inhibitive Primers or #472 Gray Fast Dry Primers. This product requires an A.I.M. compliant primer when not used in shop applications, such as Anchor #1630 series or #B-7911. Consult your Anchor representative for specific job recommendations.
 
Surface Preparation:
At minimum, the surface should be thoroughly degreased in accordance with SSPC-SP1. All burrs should be removed and sharp edges or rough weld seams should be ground down. Where weathered steel is applicable and where the substrate has reached rust grade, appropriate chemical cleaning or blasting will be necessary. This product is designed to be applied over alkyd primer or intermediate coats. When not feasible, this product can be applied directly over the substrate making sure a maximum millage is achieved.

Mixing: Stir thoroughly, making sure no pigment remains on the bottom of the can.
Surface Temperature:
Minimum 40 F
The surface should be dry and the relative humidity should be less than 85%.
Application Equipment:
Airless Spray
Pressure: 1200-2200 psi
Tip: .011"-.015"
Conventional Spray
Air Pressure: 40-70 psi
Fluid Pressure: 10-20 psi.
Brush: Use high quality natural china bristle brushes.
Roller: Use 1/4" synthetic nap covers.
Cleanup: Use Anchor #J-1131 synthetic thinner.
Application Considerations:
Brush, spray, or roll. Apply in wet coats to avoid dusting. When spraying, use a cross-hatch method, overlapping each pass 50%. Clean system thoroughly before and after each use. On a derusted surface, the application of a dry film thickness of at least 2 mils is recommended.
